We are pleased to share an important update regarding the long-running dispute over the unauthorised use of the Mindspa name by the Estonian company formerly known as Synctuition OÜ and later renamed Mindspa OÜ.
In January 2026, Mindspa OÜ was declared bankrupt by the Harju County Court in Tallinn. On 3 August 2026, the mobile application previously known as Synctuition and later MindSpa.com changed its name to “Beginning: Sleep & Meditation.”
For Mind Solutions Ltd, the company behind the original Mindspa platform, this represents a significant milestone after almost six years of trade mark proceedings, app-store complaints and persistent consumer confusion.
We first became aware of Synctuition using the name Mindspa in advertising for its competing application in August 2020. In September 2020, we contacted the company and asked it to stop using our name. Four days later, Synctuition applied to register MINDSPA and SYNCTUITION MINDSPA as European Union trade marks.
Mind Solutions opposed those applications. Following several years of proceedings, the EUIPO rejected the competing applications for relevant goods and services, including mobile applications and educational services. Despite those decisions, Synctuition proceeded with a complete rebranding of its application as MindSpa in March 2023.
A further decision followed in the United Kingdom. In 2025, the UKIPO partially invalidated the competing MINDSPA.COM registration across a range of relevant goods and services, including mobile apps, software, audio recordings and education-related services.
The UKIPO found a likelihood of direct and indirect consumer confusion and concluded that consumers could perceive MINDSPA.COM as an online version, sub-brand or extension of our earlier MINDSPA trade mark.
Throughout this period, we documented countless instances of actual consumer confusion, including users contacting the wrong company or believing that the two applications were operated by, or connected with, the same organisation.
Apple reviewed the relevant trade mark decisions and supporting evidence and restricted the competing application in the European Union and subsequently in the United Kingdom, Ukraine, Mexico, Belarus, Armenia, Türkiye and Kazakhstan.
However, Google did not stop the infringement. We first notified Google of the dispute in March 2023 and subsequently provided the EUIPO decisions, the UKIPO ruling and extensive evidence of consumer confusion. Nevertheless, Google continued to distribute the competing application through Google Play.
This allowed the disputed branding to remain commercially available through the Android ecosystem for several years after Google had received detailed notice of the matter.
The company’s bankruptcy and the subsequent abandonment of the MindSpa.com name brings an important chapter of this dispute closer to resolution and helps restore clarity for consumers searching for the authentic Mindspa platform.
Mind Solutions is currently examining whether further legal action may be appropriate against Google and any other party that allowed the distribution and monetisation the competing application after receiving detailed notice of the infringement.
For nearly six years, we have defended the Mindspa name, our intellectual property and the trust of our users. We are grateful to our customers, partners, legal advisers and supporters who stood by us throughout this process.
